Search Queries
A name or place entered into a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its result. Lewis County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
A message sent by email may be retained long enough to respond and maintain the related correspondence. It remains within the operating team unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server and analytics logs may collect technical facts when a page loads, including:

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Lewis County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Lewis County sheriff and court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report, and the website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes that appear on some pages. Their own privacy terms govern anything entered into those tools, along with their retention and disclosure practices. Review the applicable provider policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Missouri agencies, courts, sheriff pages, legal resources, or private search providers. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy applies instead of this one.
Advertising companies may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on the advertiser's systems.

Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under age 18. A verified request concerning a minor's submitted data will be handled by deleting that information.

Rights vary by residence and the law that applies. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, and its criminal-record provisions govern records held by Missouri public bodies, not the private visitor data described in this policy. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer law, a visitor may:
