About Lewis County Criminal History

Lewis County records are divided among the Circuit Court Clerk, the sheriff and jail in Monticello, the Missouri State Highway Patrol repository, the Missouri Department of Corrections, and the state sex offender registry. This privately operated resource organizes those official paths so a reader can identify the right portal, public counter, or telephone number before making a request.

Why We Built This Site

Public access in Missouri can still be hard to navigate because each custodian holds only part of the record. The Lewis County Sheriff maintains local booking and agency material. The Circuit Court Clerk keeps filed charges, docket entries, judgments, and certified court copies. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division runs MACHS, while the Missouri Department of Corrections handles state custody and supervision data. The Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry is a separate public-safety system. Bringing verified contacts, fees, search fields, and request routes together makes those boundaries easier to follow.

What We Cannot Do

This resource is privately run and has no affiliation with Lewis County, a Missouri court, a law-enforcement agency, or any state office. Its role has firm limits:

  • It cannot retrieve a person's official criminal history or perform an official background check
  • It cannot submit a Sunshine request, challenge, or expungement petition for a visitor
  • It cannot issue a certified judgment, arrest report, repository response, or registry record
  • It does not provide legal advice about a charge, warrant, sentence, or eligibility rule
  • It cannot promise that an agency's fee, hours, address, or online interface has not changed

An official record must come from the Lewis County office, Missouri court, or state agency that maintains the original file.

Search Partners

Search boxes on some pages are supplied by outside providers. Those businesses control their own products, results, prices, and data practices. A paid enrollment reached through a partner tool may produce a referral fee that supports this free resource. Lewis County Criminal History does not set a partner's charge and cannot verify or control the records a partner returns.
